Crocheted and braided C-Lon cord, hand dyed cotton cord, round and hexagonal glass seed beads, forged sterling silver wire.

“The long cascading form of Willow allows for movement whereby its sounds are orchestrated. The hushed rustling sound produced by thin hammered wire is meant to resemble the sound of leaves blowing in the wind. Inspired by the urge to wrap my body with willow branches, a T-bar disguised as a willow leaf at the very end of the necklace allows for this piece to be worn alternatively as a collar when it is wrapped around the neck and fastened through the toggle ring. Combined techniques of braiding and crocheting are used as metaphor to bind the body to the willow; strands of beads integrated into the braid signify a transfer of spiritual energy between the wearer and the tree. ”
