LOVE YA!

For this project, we were asked to create a band t-shirt and poster for our favourite band. The band I choose was Hyukoh, a Korean indie band. I took my favourite song from Hyukoh and used this song as my focus. The song is called LOVE YA! which is a feel-good song as this song and music video talk about different forms of love. Parent love, friendship love, love between lovers, and love for a pet.

“Before picking Graphic Design as my post-secondary major, I had a heavy fine art background, as I’ve trained years with realism art. Due to this, I’ve treated art as a very serious subject as I gravitated towards art styles that were dark and quite polished. During my time at OCADU, I learned to lighten my style up, which had me gravity towards art styles that were loose, colourful, and made the viewer feel good. In this project, I was fully able to express my newly developed illustrative style.”
