A Metropolis sits on the underside of a large mass of trash floating in the ocean. Because of this fish have adapted to a less carefree lifestyle, losing their ability to swim.
“"Trash Island" Interprets the real world phenomenon of trash islands as a sort of upside down metropolis of junk inhabited by water breathing creatures. Although, with this city life comes with it a less carefree lifestyle, fish having evolved to use the junk for transpiration, loosing the ability to swim. It brings into question the ways that fish might be forced to adapt to our junk, as it slowly blots out the surface, creating an artificial landmass. ”
