“The project is called "Forbid the Forbidden," which means to oppose the prohibition of a period of art history. The project consists of a 316-page illustrated book, 12 booklets, and a plinth covered in red fabric. The three parts of the project are a progressive approach to uncovering the unknown history of modern art in China; they also provide insight into individual works so that people can better understand Chinese modern art, and appreciate modern art in general.Red book jacket and book: It represents the strict censorship system and the partially opaque censorship process in China since the founding of the country. It also represents the rapid rise of China in the modern world. The book represents this history, the longer history that this part has taken on, and the future that has been influenced.Red Tablecloth: It represents the richness of Chinese cultural heritage and the faithfulness of the Chinese public to the CPC. This "red tablecloth" represents the spiritual state that is planted in the mind of most Chinese people.Booklets: They are in-depth explanations of individual works of art from this period of art history and the inspiration and motivation of the artists.”
