Past Life

Through explorations of earthly materials, with natural tones, bare wood panelling, and rusted metal, “Past Life” derives from Costa Rica, a place that gave me a taste of home. Nostalgia always creeps up on me in a land I’ve never been to. In Samara, it was from the hot, wet, humid air and from hearing another language. This animacy of sacred animals, I give my gratitude and honour to the land that exists before me. Thus, a combination of dreams, landscapes, and animals brings forth a sense of belonging.
