The Appetizer - the First Course of the Banquet

“Appetizer — a decorated platter served at the beginning of a feast to stimulate the appetite — temporarily satisfying but ultimately leaving one hungry for more. A dish that never fulfils. My cultural background, birthplace, familial influences, educational institutions and so on collectively impose constraints, dictating my actions and aspirations. Each entity demands conformity, shaping me into their desired mould but oblivious to the pain they inflict on me. ”
