“Our connection to the land is often seen as a person experience but after the loss of my grandmother I found myself wondering about her connection with the forest that lay between our houses. Through this painting I wanted to explore the feelings of not only our own personal histories and connections with land but those which are unknown or at least invisible to us. ”
