The story depicts a girl’s struggle and resistance against unstable negative emotions through the personification of emotions, ultimately leading to reconciliation with herself.

“Inner is a stream-of-consciousness, narrative animation achieved through 2D techniques combined with analogue painting. It’s approximately 1 minute and 15 seconds long. The characters' drawings are mainly produced through Clip Studio Paint and the backgrounds are created through paintings on water colour canvas. The animations and backgrounds will be processed and edited in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Primer. The animation explores the theme of confronting one’s mental turbulence and leading to self-understanding and selfreconciling. The purpose of the animation is to explore a kind of coping strategy for mental instability by decomposing and personifying the self’s emotional state. Inner turmoil refers to both confusion and struggles the girl experiences within her mind, as well as her determined mindset towards negative events in real life. With the influence of the artist Avogado6, Inner Turmoil utilizes the personification of psychological emotions and characters, along with manipulation of various line styles and colour textures, to explore the complex psychological changes and strategies that individuals undergo when facing negative emotions.”
