This work addresses the identity of women as constructed through the social gaze. The central figure is placed in an exposed state, surrounded by the gazes of the figures around her, revealing how an individual's existence is defined and fixed within the eyes of others.Rather than reproducing a specific narrative, the work questions how individuals are positioned within a social frame through the relationship between the one who sees and the one who is seen.
“My work explores how individual identity is shaped and constrained by the gaze of others. In this piece, the central figure is surrounded by the gazes of those around her, and the exposure of the body functions not as simple expression but as a device that reveals social positioning. While the surrounding figures maintain relatively stable forms and remain clothed, the central figure is placed in an unstable state as the object of the gaze. This structure reveals the process by which a person is already positioned as a defined subject within the gaze of others, before they even come to perceive themselves.Through this relationship, I want to show how easily we construct ourselves through the gaze of others, and how difficult it is to escape that frame. Rather than delivering a specific person's story, this work can be understood as an attempt to reveal how structures of gaze and power shape the individual.”
