The String of Conformity

The Influence of Conformity Conformity, which can also be referred to as herd behaviour, is a behavioural phenomenon in which individuals change their views or behaviours to conform to the expectations, norms or behaviours of others. This phenomenon can occur in individuals, groups, organizations, or society. This zine depicts how people conform in groups, regardless of whether this conformity is positive or negative. Still, it does have a profound impact on individuals and society, including the normalization of social behaviour and the emergence of group thinking. This book uses contrasting red and blue to highlight people’s conformist or non-conformist behaviour. These illustrations depict only a few scenarios that mix in conformity, and I intend to inspire reflection on our behaviour: Should we participate or reject conformity? Should we think more deeply? Should we make ourselves more independent in our thinking?
