The Calm Before a Non-existing Storm

With ‘The Underlying Need for Safety’, I am taking the experience of my day-to-day anxiety and turning it into tangible objects. To manufacture and physicalize my personal experience with anxiety, its build-up and its release. My work takes inspiration from simple tools and mechanisms that harness and store energy, like a slingshot. It aims to take the audience on a journey to face and experience their anxiety and its pattern with wearable jewellery. Each piece is titled as a small fragment of my experience with anxiety.
