“serving as a double entendre on the acronym, D(i)Y is an exploration of both the artist’s creative process throughout his years spent at OCAD U, as well as his own personal identity. in traditional terms, it has been constructed out of the artist’s reworked projects from the past to create an entirely new series. additionally, each piece has been crafted using limited/accessible resources, such as models, locations, equipment, techniques & more. on the other hand, D(i)Y serves the more literal message of “doing it yourself”, as the work displays the artist’s authentic individuality as form of self acceptance & encouragement for viewers to unapologetically flaunt their own unique qualities.”
