The viewer should be wholly overwhelmed looking at my work. Art exposes the truth, and the truth is that any one person is made up of infinite complexity.
“I take a designers point of view toward painting. I paint iteratively, layer after layer, with the intention of subjecting the canvas to as much paint as possible. While I worked, the pandemic outside raged on. Uncertainty covered every aspect of life. Faces began to emerge on the canvas. Some showed their horror and disgust. Others covered there faces. Others still claimed to know the future. After nearly one year, Forty-Seven Self Portraits looked back at me.”
