Liminal Space is an individual project that consists of three wearable art jewellery pieces. This is the first piece in the series that depicts abdominal bloating, which can take place during the menstruation phase. The menstruation phase was chosen in order to explore the conceptual potential between the field of jewellery and physiology. In these pieces, curved lines with ups and downs were used in the design of the overall structure to indicate the depressed or angry emotion that usually accompanies menstruation. These emotions often begin just before menstruation. This can be considered the "liminal space" of the menstruation cycle. The sharp and spiky form is also a representation of the pain and muscle aches that women face in this phase. Wearing the spikes against one's skin can cause minor discomfort to symbolize this female experience.
