My thesis addresses the lack of opportunities for career advancement, the high cost of living, and the representation barriers of traditional art galleries. These obstacles block emerging and mid-career creatives who often find it difficult to further develop their practice and gain interest within the community. This project focuses on how to provide artists opportunities to showcase unique ambition for engaging artwork that provokes deeper insight into the crossover of metaphor and current themes. The center will focus on helping artists transcend the limits of traditional creation with a showcase of interactive installations that push the possibilities of art and technology. This center opens the doors for engagement in conversation around social connection, artistic innovation and cultural resonance. Body immersive works strive to bridge the gap between traditional methods of craft with innovative digital design to inspire emerging perspectives.
“My goal is to design a contemporary art center that benefits post-graduates and intermediate artists by providing an affordable residency program equipped with studio facilities and professional development resources. This center will focus primarily on the overlap between digital installation and craft disciplines to showcase immersive art while encouraging interaction with the community. ”
