Censored is a presentation of the suffocated voices of middle eastern women who grewup in a highly patriarchal and religious-oriented society experiencing unfair realities in life. Theyare forced to stay silent about the ugly truth tailored by a dictatorship government. The partiallyremoved masking tape demonstrates my uncertain desire to reveal the truth about forced silencedespite the unfair and constant fear of punishments in school and this kind of society. In my school years, I did not know the school was a place to learn, play and enjoy being a child;my definition of school was fear and running to the shelter in the middle of the class and therest of the day being anxious and sad by hearing the news of lost lives and destruction. Thesethoughts create feelings of anger, frustration, and regret, something out of control. Unfortunately, nothing can change the emotional and psychological impacts anymore.
