An envelope of flowers for you. The communication that we hold as importance in our mundane life.
“A source of communication existing way back but has become less prominent as many things go online and technology continues to grow. I feel there is a lot of potential for letters to be brought back as it is something senders can personalize for the receiver. Such as reusing old papers by making them into new paper for example. Similarly to how surfaces grow mold or moss overtime to show passing time I chose to input flowers into these letter boxes made and cut from paper. I personally admire that and love experimenting with several mediums to coherently incorporate into a single work or series. In doing so, I made some wired flowers which I have learned and developed last semester and chose to challenge it again learning from my mistakes which became a smoother process this time around. The reason why I took the risk in challenging this technique again despite how time consuming it is was due to the unpredictable swirls that resulted in ink mixing with the pour medium.Overall, flowers, letters, and pastels simply remind me of spring as the slow transition from winter begins: touching base with connectivity in terms of how we communicate, how nature connects the world and how everything stays connected. ”
