In the first scene of the animation, plants have been planted and, I intend, the act of planting was the main point. I think passive action is, determined by someone, symbolic rather than self-directed movement. It includes some coercion. It has lots of meaning for them to take root and start their lives as first-generation immigrants in a new culture. Because anything that happens in daily life can feel like a tremendous event to them.

“My artwork explores the observation between natural and unnatural moments by figuring creative thinking and narrative. This work shows how ordinary moments I have observed in my daily life adapt to something that happens. I want this work to represent me, the first generation of immigrants, and to imply that have to pretend to be natural in the new culture. I hope this will be sympathy for the unnaturalness that you experience while living in other cultures.”
