Multimedia Exhibition
A 2025 exhibition curated by Wuliyah Hankey and presented through the Houndstooth Bar.

“Since the dawn of time, humanity has juggled with the concept of Growth and its existence within and around us. Whether that Growth be physical, mental, adaptative, communicative, technological, artistic, cultural, religious and/or societal; ongoing changes or progression is an integral part of the human experience. Though, as growth stands to be a prominent factor in our historical landscape, let us not forget that in our modern age there is growth everywhere, all at once, everyday. This exhibition aims to explore the broadness and multidimensionality of Growth while contributing itself to the field of art, which intrinsically holds a rich historic relationship to the concept. Art has been a fluent, yet subjective way of creating connection, and it is artists who possess the ongoing and abstract language in which to display these ideas. “The earth is just a rock without the voices of art, sincerely yours”. - Kendrick LamarThere is immense pleasure and pride in having the opportunity to work with a showcase of these ten artists, who have all embraced and presented their unique perspectives of growth. As your eyes ponder on the artwork in the room you will see that through the lenses of culturalism, societal ponderings, queer understandings and mythological views among many more, the theme of growth expresses itself within artistic storytelling. The intention of these personal perspectives and stories introduced here is to leave impressions on those we share them with. The quintessential and harmonizing impression will invoke us to wonder, “what does growth mean to me?” ”
