Failure to Launch, Permission to be vulnerable

This is a replica of the first chainsaw we owned. During financial instability, we used this tool to cut donated wood. I see this object as a relic. The blade is flaccid which disarms the utility of the tool. This gesture in one way is satirizing the rural male archetype and in another speaking to the pain of the expected ability of the body in unhealthy labor conditions.
