An Infinite Set of Wings

Painting
2025
Oil on wood, 16"x20"

“This painting began with a Fibonacci spiral, which I continuously followed with an automatic, spiralling motion of the hand, allowing the composition to remain provisional and open. Maintaining a Fluxus approach, I worked until forms gradually surfaced: a central figure, and surrounding bird-like presences. Reflecting divine protection and companionship, an "egg" had to have appeared. It is warmly nested at the core of the spiral where the painting first began. It functions as a center the way a heart is a vortex in a body, carrying the sense of emergence and cyclical continuity.”
