Space = Water + Light + Sound + Wind
A thesis that contains no object, no image, and no point of focus within it, by plumbing a space with nature...
“Once a well-known sight by Toronto's waterfront, the historically important structure, Toronto Canada Malting Silo, seems abandoned in the bustling noise of the urban center, quietly standing in a little corner along the Toronto shoreline. This deserted building, once located beneath the lively Queen Quay, now lies desolate, dead in the eyes of the city. Despite years of vacancy, this immense structure remains unwavering.Imagine a world where the silos are no longer silent but filled with the dynamic of wind and water, using light and water as materials to create a peaceful space through an empty negative space—the gap between silos. People can immerse themselves in an experience detached from the worldly chaos, providing tranquility and creating a moment closest to the essence of nature. This design not only pays homage to their past but also smoothly knits them into Toronto's future.”
