The Enormendous snowball

This ongoing collaborative project is expected to be completed by winter 2022.I started this project 5 years ago at the beginning of my undergrad and I’ve developed it as my skills at OCAD progressed. It began when an author asked me to do the illustration for a children’s poem. As an industrial designer, I couldn’t just do the illustrations, I had to make it an innovative experience.To do this, I first created a continuous illustration that aligns with the joyful paragraphs of the poem, The Enormendous Snowball. Second, I digitally capture the watercolour painting that is 10’ x 4’ wide. The painting is then experienced by the audience through a viewport that aligns with the paragraphs of the poem. As the story progresses, the viewer moves along the painting revealing the exciting storyline. The end of the poem will reveal that the entire story was created on one painting and the excitement and enormendousness of the illustration aligns with the storyline of the Enormendous snowball. This project will encompass my interest in design, innovating an experience for a story. Collaboration, where I’m working with another creative that provided the poem. And art, illustration and painting is my passion.
