“Quinn Hopkins' innovative piece, 'Woodland BeAR,' masterfully fuses the distinct styles of Norval Morrisseau and Jeff Koons, challenging the commodification of traditional art, such as Morrisseau's Medicine Bear. Drawing inspiration from the Woodland Style of art, Hopkins employs 3D animation and design techniques using Blender to scrutinize and critique the work from diverse viewpoints. As someone of mixed Anishinaabe, Metis, and European heritage, Quinn's unique perspective is deeply embedded in the artwork, reflecting his experience of navigating two worlds.”
