The Prey

The Prey is a 2D animation about people's lack of attention to the marine environment, leading to the pollution of marine life and human’s ultimate greed for enjoyment. Through the story of the girl being chased by the crab and eventually the crab being burnt to death by the girl, it reflects on people's lack of regard for them mistakes and call for everyone to protect the marine environment. The mutation of crabs due to marine pollution was my central theme, thus raising awareness of this social issue. The Prey as the title represents not only that girl is prey to the crab but also that if human continues to destroy the environment then eventually we will all be prey to nature. This animation is inspired by "Hybrids”, a CG short animation film maded by 5 French artists. In my project, humor and a light-hearted style provoke the viewer to think are this work's point.
