Double Reflection

Jewellery
2022
Copper, plated sterling silver, dyed wool, mirrored acrylic, nickel
Double Reflection is an individual project that consists of a series of wearable jewellery pieces designed to be mass-produced. Radial symmetry and the industrial aesthetic of the form are meant to facilitate the replication of the piece while the blue patina finish brings a natural, bright element to each piece. The mirrors in the collection are symbolic of reflecting the real character in the social world. Mirrors are placed back to back. One facing in represents the reminder of self, and the other one facing out represents the attempt to reflect the outside or the attempt to portray qualities that will make one successful in society. With the two-sided mirror, viewers/audiences have an opportunity to see themselves in the mirror.

“Jewellery is an expressive language. It is a way for me to speak and express my internal self. Jewellery also serves as a site for me to display my way of thinking.”
