Challenge and Context:The main issue identified is the link between rising food insecurity and worsening mental health among Canadians, exacerbated by economic hardships and decreased trust in major grocery chains due to increasing food prices. This situation underscores the need for comprehensive solutions that address both economic and mental health challenges to tackle this growing crisis effectively.

“Solution and Building Concept:SustainaSphere proposes a unique solution by involving residents directly in food production, thus increasing food transparency and trust. This project includes a multifunctional building with a market, a waste recycling fertilizer factory, and educational planting areas, promoting sustainable urban development. By participating, residents can earn food and planting materials through a reward system, helping make healthy food more accessible and fostering a community spirit of sustainability and cooperation.”
