"ABUNDANCE" Bustier

Fashion
2021
Plain white cotton-linen and cowrie shells
Bust 39", Waist 32" (1 size fits most)
This bustier matches the Abundance Bodice and is also is based on the concept of duality associated with Mama Wata and one side of a reversible garment. The use of cowrie shells on the surface application is an affirmation of abundance as the shells were once used as a form of currency in West Africa.

“The Abundance bustier is an adjustable garment with cowrie shell embroidery. This bustier can be worn by itself or paired with the Abundance/ Wata bodice to create more varied outfits. The surface application is based on the Ghanain Adinkra symbol for abundance. These symbols are used as pictorial images that represent popular proverbs, maxims and Affirmations. This garment includes a panel to allow for more diverse size ranges”
