“War on Tetris describes the long legal history behind the rights to Tetris. Tetris was developed by a researcher at the Soviet Academy of Sciences. By the fall of the soviet union, Tetris had become a worldwide hit and as a result Japanese and American game companies were eager to buy the rights. Originally a deal had been struck between the developer and Mirrorsoft but the soviet licensing bureau stepped in and claimed they rightfullyTetris. ”
