"Elysium"

With the rapid development of the internet and interactive media technology in modern society, people's addiction/dependence on them is gradually deepening unknowingly, making them “cybergized” and unable to extricate from its influence. Although technically we are still far from becoming cyborgs, our lifestyle has already started to change for the worse, as people often get stuck in cyberspace, on social media platforms, and struggle/refuse to come back to reality. The goal of this project is to find a solution to solve this ongoing problem. My suggestion is to build a development/rehabilitation centre for everyone. This project would empower people to become less obsessed with the internet and social media by providing them with a "sanctum" to keep them away from sinking deeper into cyberspace, as well as rediscover themselves and the wonders of life, and ultimately set free and become better. Exhibition shows would also be hosted here for any emerging artists around the area who need the opportunity. Lastly, I would like to propose this project as an extension to the existing Trinity Bellwoods Recreation Centre to better serve the community.
