A Breath of Fresh Air - Online Exhibition

Curation
2021
How do we find serenity in times of distress? "A Breath of Fresh Air" is a group exhibition that features three artists in Sault Ste. Marie who have reconnected back to themselves and nature during the pandemic. Samantha Pine-Bennett, Desiree Watson, and Shannon McLeod incorporate natural elements from the land into their art as a way to find healing, connection, and hope.

“Coming back home truly turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Focusing my thesis on locality helped me to realize the artistic talent within the small city of Sault Ste. Marie. Each of the artists gave me a different perspective on what it means to live and connect back to the land during this time. My journey through thesis has taught me how to look inward, trust my intuition and work to make "A Breathe of Fresh Air" a reflection of what I hope to bring into the world.”
