PLASTIQ Furniture

The rivers are filled with it, the oceans are swimming in it, the coastlines are collecting it, the landfills are clogged with it, and our trash bags are stuffed full of it. Among the many materials that we cannot live without, plastic is the one that is durable and lasts for a very long time. Plastics that may take hundreds of years to degrade and only then become microplastics. Found in almost every aspect of our lives, from hurting animals to being a component of our food chain. The amount of plastic waste continues to increase with each passing year. What can be done to reduce the amount of waste of this harmful material in the environment is the real question. The PLASTIQ Furniture brand was created specifically to achieve this goal. Using plastic bottle waste collected in our local neighbourhoods, urban areas, and oceans, PLASTIQ Furniture produces modern outdoor patio furniture made from repurposed plastic. PLASTIQ's mission is to give the public another use for their plastic waste but also to promote eco-friendly living. Throughout the process of creating this brand, there were a number of obstacles that I had to overcome. These obstacles included determining who would buy and what they would want. As a result, research has been used to break down the different stages of this brand's development. The result was an eco-friendly, affordable, and long-lasting brand. The promotional process included the creation of a logo and other brand applications during the weeks following the completion of the project. In designing the logo, I wanted something that was bold yet easily identifiable by the general public, so I used plastic bottles as the source material. In addition to the brochure, a billboard, and bus shelter advertisement were designed to promote this new and upcoming brand as well as convey the message of what PLASTIQ Furniture stands for.
