Strange Fruit

In man’s relationship with nature, humans try to control and organize it, conforming it into orderly patterns that contradict its true organic forms. I used real fruits next to the man-made paper ones to visualize the contrast and differences between the natural and artificial world, and to show how man can never truly replicate nature- it is never quite the same and doesn’t hold the same beauty. I hope viewers of this work may consider their choices in regards to buying modified foods and also to think critically of the ways in which humans alter nature and to question if it is something we should be continuing to do.
