Collage and Installation

“With a focus on the synthetic nature of closed environments and the identities fabricated from materials used in relation to one another, my biomorphic installations expand into dynamic, phenomenological organic beings meant to take on the form of an immortal bloom.”

Bianca Artemida Nam (she/her) is a Canadian, mixed-media artist based in Mulmur, Ontario and is majoring in Drawing and Painting, for her BFA at the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto, Ontario. Her practice focuses on the re-using and rebirth of images and ideas through methodologies like; collage, installation and painting in an expanded field. Her work is deeply informed by the cross pollination of analogue and digital medias; combining both synthetic and organic to illustrate a metamorphosis with each collage and installation. Not limited to a finalized body of work, her methodology stresses the importance and validity of working in studio, the tactility of materials and the overall process of creating multiple iterations that may or may not be used in it's final form. Nam's artistic practice embraces the creation rather than the final vision, in which she then further explores and examines each installation to further inform and transform the next.
