Digital and Analogue Collages; comprised of vintage nat geo magazine images, found and re-used images and holographic vinyl.

“Collage to me is an art form where you have total freedom to make as many versions of the same image and cross pollinate them into newer works and/or revisit them. Collage is a cycle, a metamorphosis.Similarly to the forever-unfolding nature of my animated installations, the collages I create lack permeance and are flexible in form. My methodology around collage is rooted in analogue collage where I work from a series of vintage magazines that have; been given to me and/or found from antique stores. There is this enate quality to 60s and 70s magazines like National Geographic that inspire my work through aesthetics but, also nostalgia. When making my collages I never glue any of my elements, as that allows for me to have flexibility in the image and composition I want to create. Photographing my work whether in progress or complete is also another major element, as that allows for me to document which composition is the strongest.Over the past few years, I have been incorporating digital media such as; photoshop, projection, sound and animation to accompany and complete my collages in installation forms. After making a couple of analogue collages, I then edit the colour and design in photoshop to further hybridize the image.”
