Sofia Perez Avila is an illustrator & comic artist living in Ontario, Canada. She was born in Mexico, and has been living in Canada for over a decade. She is a 2025 OCAD Graduate, with a BDes in Illustration. Her artwork is inspired by Mexican folk art and media in the fantasy, sci-fi, and horror genres, creating colourful and eye-catching work. She explores themes surrounding gender and queer identity, telling her stories through standalone works or longer narrative pieces. Though her work is primarily digital, she is proficient in painting, and will continue to explore analogue mediums along with her digital work.
