“I am exploring the unconscious mind, looking closely at my own dreams and translating them into illustrated scenes that deal largely with themes of magic, violence, healing, death, and rebirth. Within these dreamscapes, sensations of pain and pleasure are given physical forms, and representations of past, present and future selves manifest as both human and nonhuman figures navigating surreal environments. Rendering these scenes on a small scale, I etch out details in paint and pencil to invite the viewer to peer closely into my carefully constructed inner world, and to see themselves reflected in these otherworldly images. ”
