“I dreamt I cut my hair. It was shaggy, choppy, hacked away with a pair of shears in my bedroom mirror. The strands were all over me, all over the floor. I made most of it into a pile on the bed. I couldn't stop touching it. I kneeled at the altar of my own body. That's me, I thought, there and there and there and there.”
