“My Reflection is a short, top-down, 2D pixel animated exploration game about a student navigating through her struggles of anxiety and having too many assignment deadlines. Gameplay time ranges from half an hour to an hour. The central themes of this work are self-reflection, mental health and the focus on the idea of taking breaks. The work parts from traditional 8-bit games through its opposition to achieve victory by scoring points or defeating enemies. The game runs on the Godot Game Engine and is available for download on Itch.io. Using a serious yet gentle tone, My Reflection combines fantasy with elements from personal experiences. The game acts as a reminder to reflect on one’s capabilities and health situations in order to move forward. ”
