Meet the Artist

Juliana

Montes de Oca

Illustration, Painting, Drawing

“'Between Light and Shadow' explores still-life, portraiture and abstract subjects in the context of quiet or transitional moments in life through a series of traditional oil paintings. This series consists of multiple personal reflections on home/personal space and how our physical environment becomes part of our understanding of ourselves, as well as how our thoughts and insight influence or morph that environment. It is also a reflection of the artist's study of oil painting through the years and use of it as a medium for expression, observation and catharsis.”
