Design and Illustration

“In "Finding Home", North American Chinese adoptees subjected to China’s One Child Policy are seen exploring and cultivating their identities in their own ways, while creating positive impact on the world around them. The body of work portrays the sentiment that China’s rejected children have much more to offer than meets the eye.”

With a preoccupation on detail and texture, she strives to provide visual dynamism and depth in each piece. With an honours degree in Psychology under her belt, she incorporates her fascination with the human condition into her artwork, and explores diverse visual representations of emotion.Jasmine works with a variety of mediums such as gouache, watercolour, ink, and pen, along with digital tools within procreate and photoshop to create her pieces.Formal training provided by OCAD's honours illustration program has allowed her to develop the necessary skills to exercise her creative abilities and adapt to new challenges.Jasmine demonstrates her love and appreciation for nature and animals throughout her portfolio. Her best friend, Jinji, can often be seen in her work as well. Jinji is a little cockatiel who loves to screech when the sun rises, and sing right before bedtime.
