“My practice utilizes painting, digital collage, film and performance to explore themes related to trauma, healing and self-love, representation, intimacy, male-gaze, identity, and decolonial perspectives”
I, Aneel Vyaz, am a brown queer artist with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from OCAD University and will begin my graduate there this program this fall 2023. My practice utilizes painting, digital collage, film and performance to explore themes related to trauma, healing and self-love, representation, intimacy, male-gaze, identity, and decolonial perspectives. In recent years my work has been showcased at exhibitions such as Nuit Blanche, OCAD University, Human Rights Film Festival, and Inside Out Film Festival. I also teach art courses at JAYU, a human rights organization that provides art programs for people of minorities and underserved communities.
