Recalling Roots 2

“Recalling Roots 2” is from the body of work “Recalling Roots” consisting of photography and digital collages. Artificial objects mimicking nature like grass, flowers and trees, are photographed and digitally collaged to create immersive spaces. Textiles that the featured individual wears are created with decorative flowers and feathers. At first glance we see a queer body immersed in nature. However, the collage prompts the viewer to question from a decolonial perspective whether unconventional methods of covering the body can be considered as clothing.
