“"If We Live in Surrealism World" is a series of challenging daily stereotypes and logic. Inspired by the style of surrealist artists, this series showcases life stories from different surreal worlds, immersing viewers in the first-person perspective to experience the fantastical colours of various surreal universes. In this project, surreal universes merge with the universe of real life, aiming to inspire viewers to reconsider ordinary things. At the same time, this project introduces the surrealist movement to audiences.”
Cay Li is a passionate and creative illustrator who obtained her BDES degree in Illustration from the Ontario College of Art and Design University in 2024. She enjoys using illustration as a language to communicate with the world around her. She primarily utilizes Adobe software for digital art creation but also excels in various traditional media such as watercolor, oil painting, and collage.She is deeply fascinated by the enchanting experiences that the world of illustration brings. For her, each creative endeavor is a new journey of exploration. She loves the creative process because it allows her to express her innermost emotions and thoughts.Beyond her love for art, Cay Li is curious about life and enjoys contemplating its mysteries and meaning. Her artwork often reflects her reflections on life, adding depth and richness to her pieces.Throughout her four years at the Ontario College of Art and Design University, Cay Li has continuously explored her potential and honed her professional skills. Through learning and practice, she is gradually evolving into a more accomplished illustrator.
