Madeleine is a Toronto-based illustrator who works in plasticine sculpture and photocollage. Inspired by cartoons from the '20s and '30s and Soviet graphic design, her practice seeks to fuse technical processes from the past and present. The result is imagery that appears compellingly ghostly and out-of-time, echoing the experience of nostalgia - a longing for an idealized past.
