Bird of Prey

Sculpture
2024
Burned driftwood (found), matches, marble base.
18"x 15"x 3"
A discarded piece of charred driftwood on the beach was the foundational material for this work.

“Bird of Prey is a small sculpture made from items I've collected during periods of quiet observation along the shoreline. The piece emerged in studio as a reconfiguration—nature fragmented and recomposed into something mythic, almost totemic. There’s an underlying gesture of reverence here: for the elements, for fire, for the cyclical transformation of things both wild and domestic.”
