7 Elements of Art

A short animation that illustrates and demonstrates each of the seven elements of art:Line, Shape, Form, Colour, Value, Texture, and Space.

“The goal was to present the elements of art in an educational manner, demonstrating what each element is and, when applied, how they build upon each other to create a work of art. I chose a pencil as the subject to draw since not only is it made up of very simple geometry, but it also thematically represents art and the act of drawing.I present the elements of art in the exact order stated above because it follows a natural progression in creating a work of art—you begin with a sketch by drawing lines, using lines to make shapes, using shapes to build form, adding colour, then ultimately bringing the piece to life and context using value, texture, and space.This work was made using Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, and Procreate.”
