Polyurethane resin, copper, sterling silver, clock mechanism
3.5" x 8.5" x 11"
A functioning, clock mechanism inserted into a cast, tri-coloured back plate. The hands of the clock are cut from sterling silver sheet and inserted into the arm sockets. On the left of this piece hangs a set of fully closed, hollow copper ellipsoids. The five descending objects suspend freely through a series of jump rings, attached to the acrylic through a secure rivet. The five cow heads were originally carved by hand in wax, cast in bronze, then moulded and reproduced in resin. A wire rebar hidden between each cow head and the back plate strengthen the adhesion between the two plastics. Both the copper stand and ellipsoids are polished to a mirror finish, allowing the viewer to see multitudes of their reflection on the convex metal surfaces.Photo credit: Aleena Derohanian
“A wavy clock with wavy arms, making it a little difficult to tell the time (almost as if you were abducted by aliens and have no sense of time or recent memory when you came back down to earth)”
