Nature's Gestures - Mushrooms Series I
Painting
2021
Acrylic on canvas
24"x30"
I invite nature’s gestures and lives onto the canvas, using nature’s setting as it is. A stem of grass, dried branches, passing wind, everything becomes a living subject on my canvas rather than an object of still life. I paint the images representationally but also recreate them through interpretation. I focus on the movement of my hands and enjoy intuitive decisions while working. The process of capturing and depicting them is my tribute to their secret network and the constant flow of energy for adapting to the environment at their pace. Also, it is my small support and consolation for the unnoticed beings of the world, including myself, who constantly struggle and live at their own pace.
