The Zebra resides in the African Savanna, often experiencing the hot arid winds and grazing on native shrubs and grasses. With this knowledge, this illustration describes the tendency to fill "domesticated" spaces with artificial/ man-made recreations of natural elements. This image includes both a heater and a fan, made to mimic the hot arid winds, but also native savannah shrubbery in terracotta pots. Suggesting that despite living a domesticated life, we still seek natural settings.

“We alter our living spaces to replicate a natural habitat using man-made things using the example of a zorse (zebra-horse hybrid) who exists in the limbo between wild and domesticated. Its stall is filled with objects that artificially mimic the elements of a zebra’s natural habitat.”
